 EARLIER this week, Mrs Suzanne Mubarak honoured the 35 Egyptian Paralympians who participated in Beijing. The honourees included those who did not win medals. Those who did win will receive a lifetime pension and will make the umra. All the athletes are expected to be feted some more by the National Sports Council and the governorates. Mrs Mubarak posed for group photos with the athletes and praised the Egyptian Handicapped Federation for capturing 12 medals, including four gold, in the championship parent page (25 September - 5 October 2008, issue #916) |
