A red granite head thought to be of the 19th dynasty pharoah Ramses II has been unearthed in Tel Basta in the Delta, reports Nevine El-Aref. The head, with broken nose and beard, was discovered by an Egyptian archaeological team during routine excavations. It is 76 cm in height and may be a part of a huge royal statue of Ramses II.
