The redoubtable Portuguese coach Manuel Jose of Ahli has done it again. The historic win over the Cameroonian team Coton Sport has earned both Jose and his winning Cairo team a place in history. This is now the sixth time Ahli have won the African Champions League, breaking the record of five they shared with their downtown rivals Zamalek.
I illustrated Jose, who led Ahli to four of those African triumphs, with an unmistakable look of determination in his eye. His smile is winsome and his proud chin juts forward anticipating future successes.
