![]() When I used to meet Kamel Zuheiri in Paris -- he used to visit me once a year there -- my heart would skip a beat. It was as if we were reliving our youth. We spent wonderful times together and very happy days. His intellect fascinated me. He was a man of ideas. He also had a sense of humour and was always cheerful, even when debating the most sobering political questions. We worked together at Rose El-Youssef. I read his column in Al-Ahram voraciously. I respected his insightful opinions. I illustrated him with his trademark smile. We shall sorely miss him. parent page (3 - 9 December 2008, issue #925) |
