EGYPT failed to progress to the second round of the 21st World Handball Championship currently being played in Croatia.

In the group stage, Egypt beat Brazil and Saudi Arabia but lost to Norway, Denmark and Serbia.

In the consolation prize in the same tournament, the President's Cup, Egypt lost to Algeria but beat Tunisia on Sunday 31-30.

Egypt's last match is against Russia, which was scheduled for Monday.

The tournament concludes 1 February.
