Salwa Al-Jaser, one of four Kuwaiti women members of parliament strikes a defiant pose. She represents a new Kuwait, one that is more liberal, more democratic and less sexist. Hers is the face of a contemporary emirate free from the shackles of the past. She won a resounding victory and no one can now stop Kuwaiti women from advancing forward.
