President again
SAMIR ZAHER was reappointed president of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) after the Supreme Administrative Court ordered him brought back Sunday.
Zaher expressed happiness after the court's decision. "I have waited a long time and I'm happy with the decision as I got back my rights taken away from me," Zaher said.
The court cancelled its original order to the National Sports Council (NSC) to sack Zaher, who was allegedly ineligible to run for the post in 2008.
During his time at the helm, Egypt won three successive African Cup of Nations championships, in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
Nevertheless, Zaher will be stepping down as EFA president in 2011 because regulations won't allow him to remain in his post for a third successive stint.
