Ahmed Refaat, I illustrated him with his surly face, looking like a ghost from the Spanish Inquisition, pronounced his twisted verdict. "The trial of the century", as it was dubbed, ended with ex-president Hosni Mubarak dumped in Tora Prison's hospital. This was, after all, his very last judgement. Refaat looked glum and forlorn as he added abruptly that Mubarak's sons, Alaa and Gamal -- his heir apparent -- were acquitted. All hell was let loose and as we all know the rest is history.
