THE EGYPTIAN squash hero, Ahmed Barada, is ready to assume world fifth ranking again if not better after his spectacular victory over world ranked no. 3 Australian Rodney Eyles in the quarter-finals of Al-Ahram International Squash Championship Tuesday Night.
With help from the five thousand spectators who came to cheer him on, Barada, 21, managed to beat Eyles in all three sets on the glass court beside the pyramids.
Barada, who has been known to lose his temper on court, kept cool throughout the 66-minute match which he carried off 15-13, 17-16, 15-12.
Barada next meets William Johnson from England in the semi-finals.
