Sufra Dayma:

Grilled Fish Fillets with Apricot-Mustard Sauce

Serves 4-6


8-10 Basa fish fillets

125 gms apricot jam

75 gms grain mustard

1 tsp minced garlic

1 tbsp dill leaves (finely chopped)

2 tsp soy sauce

Juice of one lemon

Black pepper (ground)

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil + 1 tbsp extra

Salt + pepper


Wash fish fillets under tap water. Pat dry gently. Brush with extra tablespoonful of olive oil. Grill over a non-stick gas grill, at medium-high heat, turning fish once and for two minutes on each side, or when grill marks appear. Remove and keep warm. Sprinkle with salt and pepper on both sides. In a small bowl, mix jam, mustard, garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, olive oil and black pepper. Mix well with a fork to combine. Add dill and mix into sauce. Serve grilled fish fillets with sauce aside and sautéed broccoli.
