What else would you call it?

Surely Obama is made of different stuff. Time and time again he shoots himself in the foot by his too apparent absurdities, dispersing a shocking infliction upon the rest of us. By omission or admission, he cannot call a spade, a spade. His words condemn evil, his actions condone it. When he speaks he blows air, both meaningless and useless. We discovered that following his speech at the Cairo University, and he has been blowing air ever since.

Gone is his shining, upright demeanour, his disarming youth and gallantry. What remains is an empty, vain, stubborn lightweight, unfurling mischief, too abominable to contemplate. Paradoxical, ambiguous and absurd, he cannot distinguish friend from foe, and has a total lack of the gravity of his irrational decisions.

Obama’s White House is disorderly, unruly and undisciplined, from its fumbling security, to his misguided drone programme. He exchanged 5 Islamic terrorists for an American deserter, he neglected the pursuit of the Benghazi catastrophe, he went off to Las Vegas following the slaughter of an American journalist by Isis, and went off to his golf game after the beheading of another. What would you call that? He calls it “bad optics”, but it is more saturnine.. It is lack of concern, comprehension and leadership.

Like a bull in a china shop, he hardly knows the consequences of his actions. He has wrought irreparable destruction at home and abroad that cannot be disposed of by the scratches of a pen. The first item on his agenda is “climate-changes”, the last is “terrorism”. He cannot himself call it Islamic terrorism. How many more need to be killed before he can utter the word. Certainly It should not reflect on all Muslims or on the Holy Koran, but crimes perpetrated by stupid, fanatic zealots, the basest form of humanity, are what they are, acts of Islamic terrorists…aka…Genocide.

The idol he once was has been reduced to a mere object of contempt.

Last week, April 24, 2015, the whole world commemorated the centennial of the Armenian Genocide by the Ottoman Turks….except for the Turks …and Obama. He stopped short of calling it “Genocide”.  The deliberate extermination of 1.5 million Armenians by the government of the “Young Turks”, in 1915, the first of its kind in modern history, is a savage tragedy of mammoth proportions.  What else would you call it Mr. President?

Viewed by all scholars as Genocide, it is adamantly denied by the Turks, but unwilling to offend his buddy Tayyep Erdogan, Obama stood there, cool, calm  and collected and tried to describe it by blowing more meaningless air. Perhaps he has not been informed by his highly qualified entourage that Turkey is a country that harbours terrorists. Oh, but there are no terrorists, only a few deluded fanatics!

After all, the same thing happened 7 centuries ago by Christians, and more than half a century ago by Hitler. It was Genocide then…it is genocide now, and any deliberate, systematic extermination of a race, faith, colour, creed, breed, belief, cult, tribe, lineage, species etc….. is Genocide…like it or not!

It was different in 2008, when a rookie senator was candidate for the presidency. He seemed honest, eager and believable.  He pledged the official recognition of the Armenian Genocide.  He needed their votes then, but six years into the presidency, the memory fails, the morals erode and votes are irrelevant. How false his reasoning, how ludicrous his conclusions.

How will he be able to drown the echoes when he is gone?

In 1975 the US Senate failed to pass a resolution commemorating the Armenian Genocide due to the objection of another failed president, Gerald Ford.

History is guilty of somewhat neglecting one of its darkest chapters, the murder of an ancient civilisation!

The United Nations had pledged the Holocaust will never be forgotten, how is the Armenian Genocide any different?

Just because it occurred before the establishment of the UN does not diminish the horrific, undeniable fact of an act of savagery inflicted on an innocent people by a country that enjoys all the privileges of a free, democratic member of the family of free nations. They are able to do the deed, but unable to admit it.

By admitting it perhaps there would be some relief from the sorrow that has lingered for 100 years.

It was the night of April 24, 1915, when the rulers of Turkey, Talaat Pasha and his government of “Young Turks, rounded up 200 leaders of the 2 million Armenian population, and eventually sent them to their death.  The “Young Turks” regime had long contemplated the elimination of the Armenians, for the simple preservation of the Turkic race.  Hundreds of thousands were butchered indiscriminately, millions were sent out to the barren desert without food, drink, or clothing. They died of starvation, disease, exhaustion, epidemics, ravaged by desert sands and winter winds. By 1923, 1.5 million fellow human beings had vanished from the face of the earth.  What did the world do?

The “Young Turks” escaped unpunished, but there were witnesses, and their voices have echoed throughout the hundred years. Wherever they were, Armenians kept the memory, wrote books, built museums, held annual memorials, and here we are…a hundred years later and the whole world commemorates one of its most despicable atrocities.

It is not hard to say “Genocide”!  Just put your lips together Mr. President and blow…GEN-O-CIDE!

And that is the truth!
