Fond of the picturesque scenery of the Al-Gourna Village on the west bank of the Nile at Luxor, Spanish artist Gogi Olaso has painted a collection of 64 paintings showing different aspects of the village including beautifully decorated house facades and cultivation and hunting scenes.

Elham Salah, head of the Museums Department at the Ministry of Antiquities, told Al-Ahram Weekly that the daily lives of the inhabitants of the village could be viewed in the paintings along with family and official ceremonies.

The exhibition was previously on show at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square in Cairo, and it has been viewed in Spain and other European countries. The current show in Luxor will last for one month.
