The new season of Misr Theatre Company starring Ashraf Abdel-Baqi, Ali Rabiaa, Hamdi Al-Merghani, Mustafa Khater and Mohamed Anwar among others presents a number of new plays (Tickets are sold out until 14 January, 8pm).
Abtal Baladna (Heroes of Our Country), a puppet show performed by Misr Theatre Puppets, that were made in the Czech Republic depicting all the characters of Misr Theatre Company and their voices presenting a play for children, décor by Mohamed Sami, costumes by Hala Zahwa, written by Egypt’s writing workshop, lyrics by Ayman Bahgat Qamar, music composed by Mohamed Mohie and directed by Ashraf Abdel-Baqi
(Friday 16 February, 11am).

Ahlan Ramadan (Welcome Ramadan), a comic play starring cinema and TV star Mohamed Ramadan, Rogina, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Shaimaa Seif, music by Amr Mustafa, choreography by Atef Awad, décor by Amr Abdallah, costumes by Marwa Aouda, written by Walid Youssef and directed by Khaled Galal

“Egypt: The Confrontation” initiative aims at facing terrorism through art offering for free a number of concerts and theatre shows among others Al Halal produced by Al-Taliaa Theatre Company, On the Name of History features actor Mahmoud Masaoud and Madih Al Mahaba (Praising Prophet Mohamed) starring actress Sawsan Badr produced by the National Theatre Company. The closing ceremony of the event that features 500 artists will take place at the National Theatre  
(Performances run from 2 to 20 January, 7pm).
