The new season of Misr Theatre Company starring Ashraf Abdel-Baqi, Ali Rabiaa, Hamdi Al-Merghani, Mustafa Khater and Mohamed Anwar among others presents a number of new plays (Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Saturday 21 January, 8pm).
Abtal Baladna (Heroes of Our Country), a puppet show performed by Misr Theatre Puppets, that were made in the Czech Republic depicting all the characters of Misr Theatre Company and their voices presenting a play for children, décor by Mohamed Sami, costumes by Hala Zahwa, written by Egypt’s writing workshop, lyrics by Ayman Bahgat Qamar, music composed by Mohamed Mohie and directed by Ashraf Abdel-Baqi

Al-Qawmi (The National) Theatre

“Egypt: The Confrontation” initiative that aims at facing terrorism through art presents for free a number of concerts and theatre shows among others Al Halal produced by Al-Taliaa Theatre Company, On the Name of History features actor Mahmoud Masaoud and Madih Al Mahaba (Praising Prophet Mohamed) starring actress Sawsan Badr produced by the National Theatre Company. The closing ceremony of the event that features 500 artists will take place at the National Theatre (Performances run from 2 to 20 January, 7pm, free entrance).
