Mon 20, 7-8.30pm: Part of D-CAF, a talk and work presentation by Rui Calcada Bastos from Portugal.To the bustling big city, Rui Calçada Bastos brings along a brief moment of serenity that is his work. The artist comes to Cairo to present and discuss his recent and not-so-recent works. The presentation will include videos and photographic documentation of his artistic work process (The lecture will be in English with Arabic translation). Bastos’s video sculpture piece “Dismantle” will be installed in 29 Hoda Shaarawi Street – 2nd floor, from 17 to 22 March (12 -6 pm). It is a loop of a construction site. There’s no beginning, middle, or end.

He will teach post graduates of the Japanese Language Department of Cairo University about writing theses and carrying on researches (The lecture will be in Japanese with Arabic translation, number of seats is limited and early entry is priority).
