Sat 2, 6-8pm: “Photography in Egypt: Origins, Development and Transformations”, a lecture to be delivered by Ola Seif, gives overview of the different phases of photography in Egypt, trends of photographers and studios, in the context of the sociopolitical changes in Egypt around the turn of the 20th century.

Sun 3, 6pm-9pm: Mercedes Volait, the research director at the CNRS and director of the InVisu laboratory at the National Institute of Art History in Paris, lectures on forging the visual identity of the Mamluk style, which in very distinct national contexts has come to express the Islamic style par excellence (The lecture is in French).
