Coloured Dreams

Effat Hosny
Effat Hosny

“Coloured Dreams”, the latest collection of paintings by exceptionally gifted Effat Hosny, is on display at Picasso gallery in Zamalek.

In this show, Hosni is seeking out new meanings of the world and of the reality within him – by referring to the ontological relations between man and things in a constant attempt to break old habits, bringing about surprise and joy. Hosni is the real thing. He holds a vision of the world with all its pains and desires. Echoed in the paintings on show is the artist's entanglement with this world and his clashes with it bringing up a range of debates that generate a parallel reality, where he proposes his suggestions for new aesthetic visions to surprise the viewer and generate joy and spiritual pleasure. Hosni is always looking for life in his creatures. He reflects on the canvas relations unlikely to be seen by the onlooker – a torrent of shapes, colours, rhythms and meanings expressing the joy and violence of that conflict and the dialogue between human beings and life.

“This exhibition is a state of surprise and ecstasy and harmony with presence”, Hosny said.

The exhibition continues through 12 January
