SUPREME Commander of the Armed Forces President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi visited a Sinai airbase where several pilots delivered a presentation on their combat assignments and the progress of operations in Sinai. Acompanied by Defence Minister General Sidki Sobhi, Interior Minister Major General Magdi Abdel-Ghaffar, Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid, Al-Sisi praised the expertise and professionalism exhibited by the pilots in the course of their duties.

Meeting with soldiers and policemen on the frontline of the fight against terrorism, Al-Sisi lauded the level of cooperation and coordination between the Armed Forces and the police in monitoring and tracking terrorist cells and staging pre-emptive strikes. The president underscored the need to describe, understand and heighten awareness of the justice of the fight against extremism. “The fight against terrorism is the noblest endeavour we can undertake in defending the safety and security of the Egyptian people,” he said, adding “we will return here soon in order to celebrate our victory over the Kharijites of this age,” referring to an extremist sect in the early era of Islam.
