Strawberry banana and cream trifle

Serves 8
250 gm strawberries (hulled, sliced lengthways)
4 small bananas (halved lengthways, thinly sliced)
400 gm squared brownies (quartered)
250 gm mascarpone tub
500 ml pouring cream
500 ml chocolate sauce
2/3 cup castor sugar

In a non-reacting container, place halved strawberries and sprinkle over half the sugar quantity.  Leave aside, covered.  Using an electric mixer, beat mascarpone, cream and remaining sugar, until well combined and sugar  dissolved.  Inside a wide, deep glass bowl, layer half the brownies, at the bottom, in a single layer.  Drizzle over half the quantity of chocolate sauce, to cover brownies.  Mix banana and strawberry together.  Layer half the mixture quantity on top of brownies, with half the strawberry juice resulting from sugar dissolved.  Top with half the cream quantity.  Repeat, in same order, layering remaining ingredients, decorating top of trifle with a few halved strawberries, and serve.
