Take three

“This is the third time we have witnessed an Israeli aggression against Gaza. The same scene is repeated every time with minor differences, so much so that the scenario has become predictable and people have lost interest in the martyrs and innocent lives lost.”

Moataz Billah Abdel-Fattah,

Among the lies

“In 2014, the MB is hailing Hamas’s resistance and weaponry. It is trying to spread the lie that Morsi helped Hamas with weapons that would terrify Israel into accepting the 2012 truce, whereas official documents prove that Morsi de-militarised Hamas to appease Israel and gain more US confidence in the MB’s ability to keep Tel Aviv secure.”

Mohamed Al-Dessouki Rushdi,

Al-Youm Al-Sabei

Over 100 martyrs

“Netanyahu, the killer, and his gang are committing genocide in Gaza before the eyes and ears of the international community. They’ve brought about over 100 martyrs including 30 children and 20 women, in addition to hundreds of injuries. These numbers are likely to rise to thousands if Netanyahu launches a ground attack.”

Abdel-Mohsen Salama,

Egyptian Essence: Hatshepsut Temple resplendent

The elegant temple, an architectural gem, is one of the seven UNESCO heritage sites in Egypt

“I’m sharing a status written by a dear friend this morning ... She says: my cousin’s wife lost her aunt and her aunt’s entire family when their house was bombed in Gaza. Fatma Abed is an Egyptian. Like many Egyptians she has friends and family in occupied Palestine. We share a lot more than borders and strategic interests with Palestinians. Some Egyptians have Palestinian cousins. Others have childhood friends and neighbours. All have a common historical strife and dream of peace and freedom. This region has seen a lot of bloodshed and suffering over the past decades. Enough!”

Ghada Shahbender

“Try to remember that figure: LE5 billion. It is the total donation by four or five businessmen to the Tahya Misr fund. How much is their wealth then? It is also worth noting that the government declared that the total tax revenues from those whose wealth exceeds one million will not be more than LE4 billion. How come?”

Abby Martin @AbbyMartin
Israel is using the loosely defined “Hamas affiliate” term to justify its brutal bombing campaign against all of Gaza.

Roosha @TheRoosha
#Israel is using banned DIME (Dense Inert Metal Explosive) in #Gaza and the whole world is watching. Shame on humanity.

Amro Ali @amroali
What gives me long-term hope in the case of Israel’s assault on Palestine is knowing that history is never linear.

Angus Blair / Egypt @AngusBlair1
All sides will be happy to de-escalate for a ceasefire tomorrow and, if it holds for talks by Thursday, #Egypt will look good #Israel #Gaza.
