FOLLOWING a two-month break because of the African Cup of Nations, the national soccer league resumed this week with five matches in the 14th round. In Alexandria, Ahli continued their winning streak, edging Koroum 3-0. Ahli are on top of the table with 33 points out of 11 games. They still have three games in hand, one of which is the much anticipated derby against Zamalek which is scheduled for 4 March.

In other matches, Army beat Ismaili 1-0, Cement Suez defeated the Arab Contractors 2-0, and Aluminium played to a goalless draw against Ghazl Al-Mehalla.
